NDExpo-2017 “High Technologies for Sustainable Development”, the IVth International Forum, started in the World Trade Center, Moscow, on 20 March. The event is hosted by Rosatom in cooperation with the Agency for Strategic Initiative (ASI), an independent non-profit-making company, and Russian Venture Company JSC (RVC). Its purposes is to provide efficient support for the companies making hi-tech products and providing services in the key sectors.
Kirill Komarov, Deputy CEO for Corporate Development and International Business of Rosatom, and Vasiliy Osmakov, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister attended the official opening ceremony.
It is the fourth NDExpo wich provided a forum for the demonstration of hi-tech and innovation achievements of Rosatom’s companies and partners. “We have changed this year program of the Forum trying to make it broader. For the first time we are holding it in cooperation with the Agency for Strategic Initiative and Russian Venture Company”, noted Kirill Komarov. “Our discussion will be focused on the National Technology Initiative which is the program that makes it possible to identify and support the most competitive industries, technologies and hi-tech goods which are intended not only for Russia’s needs but also required to become successful in the area of high technologies globally”. Rosatom takes an active part in this program. According to K. Komarov, Rosatom works in at least five areas out of nine stated by NTI, including health care, new energy, safety, robotic engineering, etc. “Besides the discussion of the new technologies perspectives with our partners, the Forum provides a good possibility to have a more comprehensive discussion of the future of our country and technologies which are to become the foundation for the sustainable development for the coming 15 or maybe 20 years”, pointed out K. Komarov.
V. Osmakov, in his turn, emphasized the importance of cooperation between Minpromtorg and Rosatom. “We are not limited to our areas and keep increasing the number of cross-industry projects. The National Technology Initiative is the focal point of our joint efforts providing the framework for the establishment of Tekhnet, an independent cross-industry area for the development of advanced manufacturing technologies. We confirm that we are already actively cooperate with Rosatom”, said V. Osmakov. The Deputy Minister also mentioned the diversification of the defense industry as another crucial area. President of the Russian Federation set a task to come to 50% of civil products by 2030 for the defense industry. This is also the task for Rosatom and another major area of cooperation”, summarized V. Osmakov.
At NDExpo-2017 Forum, experts discussed main challenges, perspectives and directions of innovation and technology development of Russia; market and technology trends in such areas of the National Technology Initiative, as EnergyNet, TechNet, HealthNet, MariNet, SafeNet, as well as the possible synergy resulting from Rosatom’s participation in these projects. The visitors of the Forum could also see innovation technologies and sample products of nuclear companies and leading hi-tech companies of other industries.
This year, the Forum was attended by a record number of participants. The business program including a plenary session, four round tables, three panel discussions, and also special events were attended by over 1500 representatives of over 600 organizations, companies and departments. The event was covered by over 80 journalists representing 37 media agencies.
