The Director General of TENEX Mrs. Lyudmila Zalimskaya has been reelected a member of the WNA Board of Management for another two-year term, while the head of the Company’s Backend Department Mr. Mikhail Baryshnikov has become the Chair of the Working Group on Sustainable Used Fuel Management.

The WNA Board of Management consists of twenty members, including the representatives from the world’s leading companies engaged in the nuclear fuel cycle, and sets forth the Association’s strategic goals and program of activities. Mrs. Lyudmila Zalimskaya joined the Board of management in 2014. At the meeting of the Board of Management of the World Nuclear Association (WNA) that took place in Toronto on April, 25 Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General for Corporate Development and International Business at ROSATOM was elected Vice Chairman of the WNA Board of Management.
The Working Group on Sustainable Used Fuel Management summarizes the world’s best practices and elaborates communication strategies aimed at improving the public acceptance of back end topics. Mr. Mikhail Baryshnikov graduated from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) in 1998 majoring in Physics of Metals. In 2001 he defended the thesis for a Candidate of Technical Sciences. He worked at the Russian Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”, Sosny Research and Development Company (Dimitrovgrad) and ROSATOM, specialized in used nuclear fuel management.
WNA was founded in London in 2001 and now comprises 170 companies from 38 countries including France, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Japan, Korea, the USA and others. The World Nuclear Association is the most representative organization whose members are manufactures and consumers of products and services of the nuclear fuel cycle, as well as engineering, reactor construction and transport companies operating in the nuclear industry. The Board is also actively involved in the development of the Harmony programme, which has set a goal of supplying 25% of the world’s electricity by 2050.
