NovaWind (ROSATOM’s wind power division) and EcoEnergy Group signed an agreement to cooperate in the construction of a 12.5 MW Makhachkalinskaya Wind Farm in the Republic of Dagestan.

The wind farm will comprise five wind turbines with a capacity of 2.5 MW each. Equipment for the wind farm will be produced by NovaWind at its factory in the Rostov Region and also with assistance from domestic subcontractors.

The parties agreed to join efforts in design engineering and construction of the wind power plant in 2023.

“Interest in retail power market projects from private investors is essential for structural transformations of the national energy system. As a technology vendor and manufacturer of critical components, NovaWind ensures a successful delivery of suchlike projects by reducing uncertainties and mitigating our partners’ risks. I hope this agreement will be a starting point of a long-term and rewarding partnership,” NovaWind CEO Grigoriy Nazarov pointed out.

“We consider the partnership between EcoEnergy and NovaWind to be a strategic move towards constructing the Makhachkalinskaya Wind Farm and also a powerful impetus to the development of wind energy in Dagestan. This project unlocks energy potential of the region for larger-scale wind power projects. Our cooperation also lays a foundation for the development of a new segment in the wind power market,” says Artur Alibekov, CEO at EcoEnergy Group.
