ROSATOM America Latina and the Argentine Youth Nuclear Generation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of peaceful atomic energy use on the sidelines of the NISLA 2017.

ROSATOM America Latina and the Argentine Youth Nuclear Generation (AYNG - from its acronyms in English) signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the development of the peaceful use of nuclear technologies in America Latina on the 15th of March. The Memorandum, laying the basis for further cooperation in different fields of peaceful atomic energy use, was signed by the President of ROSATOM America Latina Ivan Dybov, from the Russian side, and the President of AYNG, Christian Vega. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 2nd Nuclear Industry Summit Latin America (NISLA 2017) which takes place from 15th to 16th of March, in the Hotel Panamericano, in Buenos Aires.

The document defines basis for interaction and further joint projects of parties. Collaboration is deemed in wide range of areas: development and implementation of joint projects on the promotion of nuclear technologies in Latin America and public acceptance, bilateral seminars, olympiads, joint educational materials etc. The Parties also expressed their willingness to establish a Working Group for regular interaction which will develop a list of specific projects of cooperation which will be specified in separate agreements to be binding.


”We are happy for signing this Memorandum with such promising association, which is composed, indeed, of the future leaders of Latin American nuclear industry. Besides that, we believe they are unique from the view point of awakening the interest of young people in the nuclear sector, what is indispensable to solve this gap between nuclear workers generations of Latina America”, said Ivan Dybov, President of ROSATOM America Latina.

The President of AYNG Christian Vega noted that this agreement is very important for them. ”It is very interesting to strengthen the link with ROSATOM. And beyond that, there is a need, also within the framework of this memorandum, to keep promoting the leadership capacity of young people”, giving by example the bid, supported by ROSATOM America Latina, won by them to host the International Youth Nuclear Congress + Women in Nuclear (WIN), to be held in Bariloche, Argentina, in 2018, for the first time in Latin America.



Argentine Youth Nuclear Generation (AYNG) is a non-profit organization formed by professionals from different institutions in the field of nuclear energy of Argentina and the world, having Brazilians as one of the main partners, with the aim of communicating and promoting the benefits of nuclear energy in its peaceful use for the society and the development of the region.
